My dog is overweight. How should I feed this food?
If your dog is overweight, we would recommend feeding for their goal weight as opposed to their current weight, e.g. if their goal weight is 15kg and they currently weigh 20kg, use the feeding calculator to find the daily recommended feeding amount for 15kg. The reduction in daily calories will help their body to burn the stored fat as energy until they reach their goal weight. How long will my dog take to lose weight on this food?
This will depend from pooch to pooch and on how much weight they need to lose. Diet wise, it really is a matter of cutting down calories and ensuring your pooch is active. We would recommend feeding at their goal weight for a few weeks and then re-weigh and re-evaluate.
My dog is overweight and has wind problems. Would you recommend this food?
We would recommend this food. If they are overweight, this may be putting extra stress on their digestive system and causing wind. Slim & Slender contains prebiotics & probiotics which can help to aid digestive health, and the lower calorie food will help with their weight loss.
